About the Speaker

Thies Lindenthal is an University Lecturer (Assistant Professor) for Real Estate Finance at the Department of Land Economy, Cambridge. Thies is investigating long-term dynamics in property markets, reaching back several centuries. He is also an active interdisciplinary researcher, having published in both Information Science and Real Estate Finance on the value of locations in virtual spaces. Thies holds PhD in Real Estate Finance from Maastricht University and has been a postdoctoral fellow at MIT's Center for Real Estate before moving to England. While being a postdoctoral research fellow at MIT, Thies has sourced external grants (from the Internet regulator International Corporation of Names and Numbers, ICANN) funding his research and has been actively leveraging his work by communicating it with regulators and industry stakeholders.
